Misiu Systems Demonstrates the
RealGuardÔ
Personal Security Alarm System for Real Estate Professionals at Real Estate
Connect 2003
The RealGuardÔ
Personal Security Alarm System Provides Added Security for Real Estate
Professionals and Addresses the Growing Issue of Safety in the Real Estate
Industry.
Bothell, Washington— July
22nd, 2003 —
Real Estate Professionals do more than show and sellhomes. They also face
personal safety issues and, sometimes, real danger because of the nature of
their profession. The statistics tell the story: 227 real estate agents were
killed on the job between 1990 and 2001; and over a four-year period (1993-1997)
annual averages of 126 agents were victims of non-fatal violent crimes while on
the job. Armed with a solution that addresses the growing problem of safety in
the real estate industry, Misiu Systems LLC will demonstrate the RealGuardÔ
Personal Security Alarm System (patent pending) at Real
Estate Connect 2003
on July 23rd
- 25th, at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, California, at Exhibit
Booth #11.
“The RealGuardÔ
Personal Security Alarm System is designed to be a deterrent to a would-be
attacker and makes the real estate professional feel less vulnerable and more
confident when showing a house or working at the office after-hours,” said Todd
Hodgen, Founder and CEO of Misiu Systems LLC, which developed the mobile alarm
system.
The RealGuardÔ
Personal Security Alarm System which retails for $320 is comprised of three
unique components: the Personal Transmitter which is worn or carried by
the real estate agent; the Home Receiver which is placed in a listed home
or one open for a house showing; and the Auto
Transceiver which is installed in an agent’s car (in
actuality; their virtual office). When agents perceive trouble they press the
button on their Personal Transmitter which simultaneously communicates to the
Home Receiver and the Auto Transceiver and both begin emitting loud piercing
sounds. The noise can scare away any potential or threatening individual and
alerts those nearby as well.
“Our goal is to increase real
estate agents’ safety and overall awareness by providing personal security like
no other. RealGuardÔ
can be their constant companions in the workplace making agents feel safer and
more confident in their surroundings,” Hodgen stated.
Agents will have the ability to
activate the Home Receiver in any home they visit that has one
¾
even if the Home Receiver is placed there by another agent
¾
because of the ability of the mobile alarm system to network and communicate via
its proprietary technology.
“The system’s
interoperability allows agents to work together
¾
creating a network of alarms within their community,” Hodgen said. “An agent
with a Personal Transmitter and Auto Transceiver can show a house equipped with
RealGuardÔ
and know that these devices will communicate with one another if the need
arises.”
The RealGuardÔ
Personal Security Alarm System is exclusively sold to the real estate industry
through Multiple Listing Service Boards and Real Estate Associations and will be
available 4th Quarter 2003. Misiu Systems LLC offers an incentive
program called the Partnership Plan that encourages the boards and
associations to commit to a particular number of units to obtain various
discount levels. The RealGuardÔ
units can then be offered to their members and the orders can be filled by Misiu
Systems LLC directly at the negotiated discount level for that particular
association or board.
